Men, you want to know how you can end slavery? Particularly sex trafficking? 

Learn to value and respect the women and girls in your life.

I was sexually exploited by a pimp at the age of 21... Sometimes people find it surprising but I don't. 

Contrary to what you may read about pimps or traffickers my first pimp was actually really nice. Well, in the beginning. 

By the age of 21 I had met many different men in my life from personal relations, at the job, church, and etc... My pimp was the first guy that actually listened to me and seemed to value me as an individual instead of a commodity or just a piece of a** like most of the other guys I encountered. He actually seemed to care! How ironic does that sound because he would end up being the one who in return sexually exploits me.......

When he started changing and becoming like the men in my life I just put it in my mind that ALL men were like that. 

The manipulation pimps use aren't that much different from the manipulation a lot of men and young boys use today on women and girls. 

The only difference is that they haven't sexually exploited her. But I could really argue against that but that's another post.......

From my own personal experience and the many women and girls I met while in the industry not very many had a  good report  with the men in their lives. They were their abusers most of the time. So, to now have a man in their life who listens and initially seems to care and more than likely holding them hostage mentally based on a false promise, "this is only temporary and when it's over it will be just me and you," many girls and women are trapped in this industry....

Why do I feel men play an important role?

 Because in the beginning man gave the "woman" her name. Genesis 2:23 

Little girls are supposed to be affirmed by their father but if he abuses her or neglects her then what identity has he left her to believe in? 

That's she's not worthy.....

Don't believe me?  Just count the number of insecure women or girls you know who are fatherless???? 

My point exactly..... She's hanging on to the identity that he left there or never gave her....

But God has commanded us all to make a difference in the lives of the broken. 

Psalm 82:2-4
"How long will you defend the unjust and show partially to the wicked?
Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed. RESCUE the WEAK and needy; DELIVER them from the hand of the wicked."

Just a change in your conversation to a woman and girl could rescue her.
Just a change in your perspective in how you view a woman or girl could deliver her. 

Be the voice of hope that leads her to God. 

Men, respect and value every woman and girl you meet. 

9 times out 10 if she is in a situation that is unpleasant such as sex trafficking, under the control and manipulation of a pimp, it's because her identity has been misplaced!

What's Your Valley?

The sermon today at church was entitled "walking in the valley" and the scripture was  Psalm 23:4 King James Version (KJV) 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
