Changing my Narrative.....Getting Rid of Stinking Thinking
"The Prodigal Son"
11 To illustrate the point further, Jesus told them this story: “A man had two sons. 12 The younger son told his father, ‘I want my share of your estate now before you die.’ So his father agreed to divide his wealth between his sons.
13 “A few days later this younger son packed all his belongings and moved to a distant land, and there he wasted all his money in wild living. 14 About the time his money ran out, a great famine swept over the land, and he began to starve. 15 He persuaded a local farmer to hire him, and the man sent him into his fields to feed the pigs. 16 The young man became so hungry that even the pods he was feeding the pigs looked good to him. But no one gave him anything.
17 “When he finally came to his senses, he said to himself, ‘At home even the hired servants have food enough to spare, and here I am dying of hunger! 18 I will go home to my father and say, “Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you, 19 and I am no longer worthy of being called your son. Please take me on as a hired servant.”’
20 “So he returned home to his father. And while he was still a long way off, his father saw him coming. Filled with love and compassion, he ran to his son, embraced him, and kissed him. 21 His son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you, and I am no longer worthy of being called your son.[a]’
22 “But his father said to the servants, ‘Quick! Bring the finest robe in the house and put it on him. Get a ring for his finger and sandals for his feet. 23 And kill the calf we have been fattening. We must celebrate with a feast, 24 for this son of mine was dead and has now returned to life. He was lost, but now he is found.’ So the party began. Luke 15: 11-24
Now that I have accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior I have become an heir to the Kingdom of Heaven but I discovered something about me just recently, I need to get rid of my negative thinking. I guess you could say that I had a prodigal son moment. I found myself conforming to my circumstances and feeling as though God had forgotten about me. Then I CAME TO MYSELF and realized that it was the enemy attempting to plant weeds in my mind.
Romans 12:2 TELLS US NOT TO CONFORM TO THE PATTERNS OF THIS WORLD BUT TO BE TRANSFORMED BY THE RENEWING OF OUR MIND. ANYTIME THERE IS AN ING AT THE END OF A WORD IT MEANS CONTINUOUS. THEREFORE MY MIND WILL NOT BE RENEWED OVER NIGHT NOR IN JUST A COUPLE OF YEARS. IT MEANS THAT I HAVE TO MAKE A CONSCIOUS EFFORT AND CHOOSE TO RENEW MY MIND EVERY SECOND, EVERY MINUTE, EVERY HOUR, EVERY DAY........
FOR A LONG TIME I LIVED A CURSED LIFE AND IT LED TO ALOT OF POOR CHOICES AND IT LEFT MY MIND CORRUPT WITH NEGATIVE THINKING. I COULD FIND THE WORST IN ANY SITUATION.
NOW THAT I HAVE REPENTED, BROKE THE CURSE AND AM NOW LIVING FOR CHRIST I MUST CONTINUE TO FIGHT TO KEEP MY MIND IN LINE WITH MY SALVATION BECAUSE IF I DON'T THE ENEMY WILL TRY AND PLANT HIS WEEDS. I CAN'T HAVE THAT.
Luke 8:11-15
New International Version (NIV)
11 “This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God. 12 Those along the path are the ones who hear, and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved. 13 Those on the rocky ground are the ones who receive the word with joy when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away. 14 The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life’s worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature. 15 But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.

WHERE DOES YOUR MIND LINE UP IN THIS PARABLE? Are you the one the enemy easily persuades and you have no Word planted in you to fight him back with? Are you the one who goes to church every Sunday involved in ministries but as soon as a test comes you faint? Are you the one who compares your walk with Christ with other believers and non- believers and find yourself getting discouraged because you don't see God blessing you how He's blessed others? Are you the one who walks by faith and bears fruit from The Word of God?
I want to be the one who has a good and noble heart but I realize that in order for that to happen I have to continue to renew my mind daily!!! Did you have a prodigal son moment too? Have you come to your senses and are ready to submit to God and stop giving the enemy a foothold in your life?
Join me, Lets get rid of this stinking thinking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. – Philippians 4:8
