"The One in the Mirror"

Watch who you hang with. You will look up and find yourself wallowing in their same mud and actions. Behaviors are contagious. Lesson Learned


The hardest thing is recognizing your weakness, standing up, and protecting yourself. 

I didn't want to let my old friends go when I dedicated my life to Christ. But I quickly realized I couldn't handle being around them and walk with Christ wholeheartedly. "Don't be mislead:Bad company corrupts good character." 1 Corinthians 15:33

 I found my self smoking, drinking, partying, and having meaningless sex with a man trying to claim it was love. The next morning I would feel so horrible because I was being tugged in two different directions at the same time. Light and darkenss can't dwell together and God was ready for me to choose.

Even when I left my old friends behind and started hanging with my new "church friends" I found myself doing the exact same thing with my church friends  and I ended up pregnant. My friends was NOT the issue. I WAS! I had a choice to make. Continue living a cursed life or accept Gods Grace for a new blessed life. I wanted to be healed. I desired more of Christ. God drew me near. I owned up. I repented. I started working on the woman in the mirror. I was filled with shame, hurt, confusion, brokenness, lust, and ignorance. I wanted more but I never believed I was worthy. I tried using every excuse BUT GOD never gave up on me. I'm being restored. I'm being healed.


It's not your friends. Maybe like me they influence you but you have the final say. I know the truth is a hard pill to swallow but when you blame others you become powerless to change the situation. 

"Greater is he that is in me than he that is in the world." 1 John 4:4

The King is in you! You have the power to fight this. Are you ready? Do you really want to give up your purposeless ways? Do you really want to be healed? Are you truly tired of the temporary escapes? Do you think God is boring? Do you think freedom is only meaningless sex, drugs, alcohol, and living in sin? THE DEVIL IS A LIAR!! 

I know you feel horrible afterwards. If you didn't you wouldn't be afraid to turn to God. You wouldn't need temporary escapes to make you feel better. When you can't live soberly in your own skin that's a problem. Don't be unaware of the enemy schemes. The enemy wants you to feel powerless and to play the blame game. 

We are fallen. We are human. We are covered in this flesh and your flesh is winning right now! BUT GOD!!!!

"Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world." If you have accepted Christ you have the power to overcome! 

The fruits of the spirit is love joy peace forbearance kindness goodness faithfulness gentleness and SELF-CONTROL. Against these there is no law.  Galatians 5:22,23

The fruit of the Spirit is self-control! You have the power to overcome but you have to own up and stop playing the blame game. It's not the devil (he tempts). It's not your friends, family, and environment (they influence). But YOU CHOOSE. It's our own flesh and desires. 

Facing the woman in the mirror is one of the hardest things to do but it has also been one of the most liberating experiences of my life. Today I have self-control through the power of the Holy Spirit living inside of me. I am healed. I am delivered. I am no longer unaware or in denial of my weaknesses. 
God is in control. Jesus has the wheel of my life. 

So don't beat yourself up. If you've fallen you have the power to get up. Take it from someone who has been where you are. God got me through. You can make it through too!! Where ever you are God is there!! When your ready God will be there! No more blame games! Own up! It's time to face the one in the mirror!

P.S. God is not boring! God is aware of your desires and he has given us the ability to fulfill those desires through the Holy Spirit. Once you realize that you won't need sin, meaningless sex, drugs, or alcohol anymore as an escape!! You will endure life! You will persevere! You shall prosper! You shall have joy and love!

Repent and lets start anew!!
